Farm Bureau Supports Reigning in the EPA

Measures to block Environmental Protection Agency regulations and cut the agency’s funding are being considered in the House this week. The Farm Bureau is supporting the proposed legislation. Minnesota Farm Bureau President, Kevin Paap says the primary problem is the EPA is evading Congressional oversight with their rules and regulations and needs to be pulled in.

One measure being considered  is the Interior and Environment funding bill that cuts $178 million or 9% from EPA’s fiscal year 2016 budget. That’s on top of 20% the agency has absorbed since 2011.

Paap says one of the Farm Bureau’s major concerns is the need to stop the EPA and Army Corps of Engineers Clean Water, or Waters of the U.S., rule.
